Notes
Met-enkephalin is the endogenous opioid pentapeptide Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Met, processed from proenkephalin (Hughes et al., 1975).
It is linear and unmodified. The N-terminal Tyr is essential for opioid-receptor engagement; the shared YGGF motif also appears in Leu-enkephalin.
